People Are Weird

I had one of the strangest interactions with a random guy this week. After arriving at the office a little late one morning (yes I was late and I admit to it), I was chatting with one of my colleagues when the office "door bell" rang. Since I was already standing, I immediately went through to the front desk to answer it.

The gentleman at the gate was apparently in quite a hurry, so he proceeded to ring the bell like 10 times in the space of about 10 seconds (ok, so I'm exaggerating a little, but he rang it a lot!). Anyway... I eventually made it to the reception area.

Now we have a policy at work of not letting any strangers into the building unless we know why they are there and who they are there to see. This gentleman, however, was riding a motorcycle which is generally associated with deliveries (we have loads of those) and so I just let him in.

I greeted him as he entered the building, and he made his way to the reception desk. He then explained that he was looking for an office park on the same street to drop off some documents. I was polite and listened intently so that I could offer some kind of help; sadly it all went downhill from there...

The conversation went a little something like this....
Him - I'm looking for this address
Me (not knowing the area very well even after 4.5 years - terrible I know) - um... I think it's... Um... I think...
Him (very serious) - no, I don't need you to think, I've been driving around all morning, I need you to know
Me (stunned) - ok, well then, I don't know
Him (super stunned) - you don't know..?
Me (serious face) - nope, I don't know...
Him - I really need to find this place
Me - well have you tried the other street
Him - no it has to be on this street
Me - well maybe it's around the corner
Him (humbled, I guess?) - hmmm ok... well do you know where this place is?
Me - nope
Him (still uber stunned) - you don't?
Me - nope
Him (now suddenly desperate) - doesn't anyone else here know?
Me (completely over it) - nope

He looked at me hopelessly, said "ok" and then headed for the door. I let him out. I then returned to my desk very confused... Was he just super rude or did I read that situation incorrectly?? Well, all my friends told me it was him at fault and not me, so I went with that. And besides, he did tell me not to think...

I just wonder if he ever found his destination.... Aah who am I kidding? I hope he got super duper uber lost!!! Mean I know, but it's true...

Seriously though, some people are just weird...

Don't believe me?? Check this out...
