Never Alone

I recently started playing netball again and it happens to be my ultimate favourite sport (in the whole wide world) and I'm quite good at it, so it's a win win really. Like most sport, netball is a team driven sport that requires a group of individuals to work together in order to achieve a certain goal. Following this principal, no one in a team can ever stand alone, everyone always has some kind of help and support when needed (and they will always need it).

After a rather rough weekend, I discovered that life is exactly the same as a team sport (random I know). We're all part of some type of team, be it school, work, church or home, and we all have people around us who are there who form our support system in times of need. It may not always seem that way and you may sometimes feel like you're all alone even when you're surrounded by others. However, the truth of the matter is that there is always someone around. Someone who is willing to help, someone who will support, someone who'll just be there - however, whether or not we receive that support is really all up to us. Just like in a team sport, if you try to do anything on your own, you will be overwhelmed by the opposition who will just take you out. But when you acknowledge your team (the people around you), you don't have to face the opposition alone, and yes, you may be taken out, but someone on your side will always help you back up.
That's why we have people around us, that's why they're part of our team - they're there to help fulfil various roles in our lives, but only if we let them. Our biggest problem as human beings is that we all know and can acknowledge that need for something in our lives (be it love, encouragement, friendship - whatever), yet when the solution to that something comes along, we suddenly question it's ability to actually "work" (story of my life). I say go with the flow - don't just trust everyone... but realise that there are people in your life who are there for a reason... some to play a bigger role than others.. so pick them wisely and just let them do their thing!
Over and above that, there is always someone greater, someone stronger, someone even more capable than an average person... who knows it all. So even if people let you down, even when it feels like you're facing the storm alone... you are never alone! God is always by your side and he promises NEVER to leave or forsake you... and that's a promise you can take to the bank!!!
